Mobile, Alabama has to be our first pick of the number one place we would wanna go.
Mainly because it's the South, and we're originally from Oklahoma.
But that's not the only reason. They have amazing summers, and real winters.
It is the third most populous city in the Southern US state of Alabama.
It is a bigger city, the population within the city limits was 195,111 during the 2010 census.
Mobile is known for having the oldest organized carnival celebrations in the United States.

I live in Mobile and have all of my life. I just want to say that we do and have had an airport for many years. I'm 26 years old and we've had one since I was born. It's actually a very short distance from the Coast Guard base. It's called Mobile Regional Airport.
ReplyDeleteAlso, we have very hot and humid summers. The temps usually range between 96°-115° during our summer peaks, which usually lasts weeks. The humidity causes it to be so high.
Mobile is very unique and different from many southern cities. Mardi Grass is a very huge tradition. Also, Bayfest and the Greater Mobile Fair are traditions.
I forgot, the winters are nice in Mobile. It gets very cold, but we barely see snow and there's hardly ever ice on the roads. We have the extreme cold weather, without the snow and ice. When I say extreme, I mean the temperatures are the lowest when they're in the teens. I've never seen it below zero, or heard of it go below zero.
We do have a lot of rain in the summer, and hurricanes are something you risk if you move here. I live in the city, but not downtown Mobile. Flooding has never been an issue where I live. It usually occurs in downtown Mobile, or in areas close the water as in Bayou La Batre, Dog river, Foul River, Dauphin Island and Dauphin Island Parkway. Other areas included. As long as you're not close to water, flooding is never a worry. The only thing we worry about in my area of Mobile is the wind the hurricane produces.
Maybe my info will help.
